Alumni Q&A: Katherine Silvers ’23
Alumni Appreciation Week
What are you most interested in now?
Recently, for school, I have been taking classes such as media production and the Arts while developing my interest in language learning on the side. My favorite subjects are still math and science, which I began to like at the Inly Middle School.
What was your transition like from Inly to High School?
Coming from a class of 17 students, it was different seeing so many new faces, but even so, I still felt prepared for a different style of education, which included more tests and interactions between a large variety of people.
How do you feel that Inly shaped or inspired you as a learner?
During my time at Inly, my growth as a learner was greatly nurtured by the Inly teachers around me. With the necessary support, I have been able to grow into a person with more confidence in what I do, someone able to take on challenges. Not just the teachers, but also the experiential learning that Inly offers, including internships and field studies, has given me many opportunities to step outside of my comfort zone and try something new.
Why do you choose to support Inly with a gift to the Inly Fund?
I wish for future students to be just as grateful as I am to have received an Inly education, where they are encouraged to explore their passions.
What lesson or memory do you carry forward from Inly in your life?
I think that idea of “stepping outside of your comfort zone” has had a great impact on me. It has taught me to try new things because I might just find a new passion.
Are you an Inly/TMCS Almni with a story to share?
Tell us here, and we’ll send you a Starbucks gift card as a special thank you!
